WINKLER...WESTERN WARD AND LOVING COUNTIES...

AT 1207 AM CDT...THE SHERIFF OFFICE IN LOVING COUNTY REPORTED
STATE HIGHWAY 302 CLOSED IN LOVING COUNTY. THE PECOS RIVER
IS REPORTED TO BE FLOODED 16 INCHES DEEP OVER STATE HIGHWAY 302...
A HALF MILE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE RIVER NEAR MENTONE.

AT 1207 AM CDT DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED A LARGE AREA OF VERY
HEAVY RAINFALL ACROSS SOUTHERN LEA COUNTY NEAR JAL AND OPEN
COUNTRY OF NORTHERN LOVING COUNTY AND EXTREME NORTHWEST WINKLER
COUNTY. ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN MORE FLASH FLOODING.

LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO JAL...
KERMIT...MENTONE...KERMIT...PECOS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE THE
DANGERS OF FLOODING. ACT QUICKLY IF FLOODING IS OBSERVED. MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND.
