THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EL PASO HAS ISSUED A

* ARROYO AND SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
  NORTHEASTERN SIERRA COUNTY IN NORTH CENTRAL NEW MEXICO...

* UNTIL 615 PM MDT

* AT 317 PM MDT...DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATED UP TO ONE AND A HALF
  INCHES OF HEAVY RAIN IN THE NORTHERN SAN ANDRES MOUNTAINS DUE TO
  THUNDERSTORMS. THIS WILL CAUSE ARROYO AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN
  THE ADVISORY AREA. UP TO ONE INCH OF RAIN HAS ALREADY FALLEN.

* FLOODING WILL REMAIN OVER MAINLY RURAL AREAS OF NORTHEASTERN SIERRA
  COUNTY.

ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OF ONE INCH OR MORE IS EXPECTED OVER THE AREA.
THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL RESULT IN MINOR FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. FLOOD WATERS ARE USUALLY
DEEPER THAN THEY APPEAR. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING WATER IS POWERFUL
ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN ENCOUNTERING FLOODED
ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
