FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
345 AM EDT WED MAY 4 2016

...PATTERN OF COOLER WEATHER AND HIGHER HUMIDITIES WILL CONTINUE...

.DISCUSSION...
BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES WERE COMMON ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK AND
VERMONT ON TUESDAY AND THIS WILL BE THE CASE AGAIN TODAY AND
THURSDAY. PLENTY OF CLOUDS WILL EXIST DURING THIS PERIOD AND ALL
OF THIS LEADS TO HIGHER HUMIDITIES. THE POTENTIAL FOR SHOWERS WILL
EXIST TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY...WITH THE BEST CHANCES OCCURRING
TODAY INTO TONIGHT. TOTAL RAINFALL TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY LOOKS TO
BE IN THE TENTH TO A THIRD OF AN INCH RANGE. THE TENTH WILL BE UP
NEAR THE CANADIAN BORDER AND THE THIRD WILL BE DOWN ACROSS ESSEX
COUNTY NEW YORK AND THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN SECTIONS OF VERMONT.
WE WILL START TO SEE A GRADUAL WARMING TREND FRIDAY INTO
SATURDAY...BUT AFTERNOON RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL ONLY LOWER INTO
THE 45 TO 55 PERCENT RANGE. THERE WILL ALSO BE THE CONTINUED
CHANCE FOR SHOWERS FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY. A PATTERN CHANGE TAKES
PLACE LATE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY AS A LARGE UPPER LEVEL
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVES DOWN INTO THE REGION. SHOWERS WILL BE
LIKELY LATE SATURDAY NIGHT INTO THE FIRST HALF OF SUNDAY BEFORE
COOLER AND DRIER WEATHER MOVES IN ON NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT. WITH
ADDITIONAL RAINFALL OVER THE WEEKEND AND THE COOLER TEMPERATURES
TO RETURN FOR LATE IN THE WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT WEEK...FIRE
WEATHER CONCERNS SHOULD CONTINUE TO REMAIN RATHER LOW.
