Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central South Carolina
and East Central Georgia
National Weather Service Columbia SC
301 PM EDT Mon May 22 2017

.DISCUSSION...Increasingly moist air will continue to spread north over
the region through Wednesday, as a cold front becomes nearly stationary
and waves of low pressure move northeast along the front. Scattered to
numerous showers and thunderstorms will continue to be a concern, with
the potential for very heavy rain and flooding problems.

The pressure gradient will support poor dispersion this evening through
early Tuesday morning. Rain-induced fog will be possible due to abundant
low-level moisture.

Surface winds Tuesday will be from the south-southeast around 5 mph
after daybreak, and become southwest at 5 to 10 mph by afternoon.
Transport winds will become southwest and increase to 10 to 15 mph.
Relative humidities will remain above 60 percent.
