EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...

An extreme grassland fire danger is likely for all of central
Kansas as well as in Greenwood and Woodson counties in southeast
Kansas. A Red Flag Warning is in effect for these areas from noon
until 6 PM CST today. All burning is to be avoided in these areas!

South winds will increase considerably this morning as a surface
trough continues to strengthen along the Front Range. Sustained
speeds from 25 to 35 mph, with 40 to 45 mph gusts, are likely in
most areas, especially in central Kansas. A Wind Advisory has
also been issued for all of central and south-central Kansas and
is in effect from 9 AM until 6 PM CDT.

South winds around 20 mph are likely in all areas tonight.
