FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/EASTERN AND SOUTHEASTERN IL
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LINCOLN IL
500 AM CDT WED APR 23 2014

.DISCUSSION...
CLOUDS WILL BE ON THE INCREASE TODAY AS A STORM SYSTEM GATHERS
STRENGTH OUT TO OUR WEST. THE LARGE FAIR WEATHER SYSTEM THAT
BROUGHT FROSTY CONDITIONS TO THE FAR NORTH AND EAST EARLY
THIS MORNING WILL MOVE WELL OFF TO OUR EAST TODAY ALLOWING
A LIGHT EAST TO SOUTHEAST WIND TO DEVELOP OVER THE ENTIRE
AREA. A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA LATER TOMORROW WITH
OUR BEST CHANCE FOR SEEING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG AND
TO THE EAST OF THE FRONT. THERE MAY BE SOME ISOLATED SHOWERS
IN THE MORNING WITH THE BETTER CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND STORMS
ARRIVING JUST AHEAD OF THE FRONT TOMORROW AFTERNOON AND
EVENING WITH RAINFALL TOTALS IN THE QUARTER TO ONE HALF INCH
RANGE. WINDS WILL VEER MORE INTO A SOUTHERLY DIRECTION TOMORROW
WITH A FEW GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH AT TIMES. DRIER WEATHER SHOULD
RETURN ON FRIDAY.
