Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Wrn Montana and N Cntrl Idaho
National Weather Service Missoula MT
254 PM MDT Tue Jul 26 2016

.DISCUSSION...

Idaho: Most thunderstorms are forecast to stay east of the
Nez Perce and Clearwater NFs today. Relatively high RH air will
remain over the area through Wednesday, and after this, there is
a slight drying and warming trend under predominately Westerly
flow. This will lead to poorer recoveries overnight and lower
minimum RHs through the weekend.

Montana: Numerous thunderstorms are expected across northwest
Montana, including the Kootenai and Flathead NFs. These storms are
expected to be quite wet, given above normal atmospheric moisture.
Some could be strong with small hail and gusty winds. In southwest
Montana, including the Beaverhead-Deerlodge NF, the moisture is
not quite as abundant, but some rain is expected with cells that
do produce lightning. Expect erratic wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph,
which have already been observed this afternoon with
thunderstorms. Tomorrow will bring more chances for scattered
thunderstorms in similar areas. Westerly flow continues into the
weekend, with a slight drying and warming trend. This will lead to
poorer recoveries overnight and lower minimum RHs through the
weekend.
