SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

THE UPPER LEVEL LOW WILL CONTINUE TO MOVE THROUGH SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA THURSDAY AND THEN EXIT TO THE EAST. THIS WILL BRING
ANOTHER CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS THURSDAY...MAINLY IN THE MOUNTAINS
AND DESERTS DURING THE AFTERNOON. WETTING RAINS WILL BE LIKELY WITH
THESE THUNDERSTORMS...THOUGH AN ISOLATED DRY LIGHTNING STRIKE COULD
OCCUR MAINLY IN THE MORNING. THERE COULD ALSO BE LOCAL FLOODING OR
HAIL THURSDAY AFTERNOON. DRIER WARMER CONDITIONS WILL RETURN FRIDAY
AND LIKELY CONTINUE THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK...THOUGH LOCALLY
GUSTY WINDS FROM THE WEST WILL OCCUR FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND IN
THE DESERTS.

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL LINGER OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THROUGH
EARLY FRIDAY. THIS WILL RESULT IN COOLER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES
AND A DEEP MARINE LAYER PUSHING INTO THE MOUNTAINS WITH HIGHER
HUMIDITIES BELOW 4000 FT. UNSTABLE AIR ABOVE THE MARINE LAYER WILL
ALLOW FOR A SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORM IN THE MOUNTAINS
AND ANTELOPE VALLEY THROUGH THURSDAY. IF THUNDERSTORMS FORM...DRY
LIGHTNING WILL BE A CONCERN ALONG WITH GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS. A
DRIER AND MORE STABLE AIR MASS WILL MOVE IN FRIDAY AND LAST THROUGH
THE WEEKEND WITH VIRTUALLY NO CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY.
TEMPS NEAR TO SLIGHTLY BELOW SEASONAL NORMS. A WARMING TREND IS
EXPECTED BY THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL LINGER OVER
MOUNTAIN AND DESERT AREAS INTO THE EVENING AS AN UPPER LEVEL
LOW MOVES INTO SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. A DRIER WESTERLY FLOW ALOFT
WILL LEAD TO DRY CONDITIONS THROUGH FRIDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL
WARM TO NEAR SEASONAL LEVEL WITH GRADUALLY DECREASING HUMIDITIES.
WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE LIGHT AND TERRAIN DRIVEN ON THURSDAY.
A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE INTO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA ON
FRIDAY BRINGING STRONGER ONSHORE WINDS.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
WILL MOVE TOWARD ARIZONA LEADING TO INCREASING THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE
OVER SOUTHEAST CALIFORNIA...SOUTHERN NEVADA AND NORTHWEST ARIZONA
THURSDAY. LINGERING STORMS MAY CONTINUE OVER NORTHWEST ARIZONA
EARLY IN THE WEEKEND THEN DRY CONDITIONS AND NEAR NORMAL
TEMPERATURES CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS THE ENTIRE REGION THROUGH THE
MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

MOISTURE...ALONG WITH SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES INCREASE
ACROSS THE REGION THURSDAY...WITH A DRIER TREND EXPECTED FRIDAY
THROUGH THE WEEKEND. HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL REMAIN ELEVATED...GRADUALLY
TRENDING DOWN THROUGH THE WEEKEND. WINDS SHOULD BE LIGHT DURING THE
PERIOD...FOLLOWING TYPICAL DIURNAL PATTERNS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY STRONG GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
