SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

WARM CONDITIONS WILL PREVAIL THROUGH THIS EVENING...AS HIGH CLOUDS
INCREASE ACROSS THE REGION. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE
THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON OVER THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF THE SAN
BERNARDINO COUNTY MOUNTAINS. SUBTROPICAL MOISTURE WILL THEN SPREAD
INTO THE REGION ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY...WITH A SLIGHT CHANCE OF
AFTERNOON MOUNTAIN THUNDERSTORMS ON FRIDAY AND A BETTER CHANCE OF
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE MOUNTAINS...DESERTS...AND INLAND
VALLEYS ON SATURDAY. THE THREAT OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH SUNDAY...WITH DRIER CONDITIONS DEVELOPING NEXT WEEK.

***THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS***

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OVER SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA AND NEVADA WILL PERSIST THROUGH FRIDAY THEN GRADUALLY
SHIFT NORTH SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. DRY SOUTHWEST MID AND UPPER
LEVEL WINDS WILL PREVAIL OVER THE AREA THROUGH FRIDAY. THE WINDS
ARE EXPECTED TO BECOME SOUTH AND SOUTHEAST WITH INCREASING MOISTURE
SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY. THE BULK OF THE MOISTURE IS EXPECTED TO
REMAIN EAST OF THE AREA BUT THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS
NEAR THE VENTURA AND KERN COUNTY BORDER AS WELL AS THE ANTELOPE
VALLEY AND ADJACENT SLOPES OF THE ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST SUNDAY.
OTHERWISE THE MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY IN THE MOUNTAINS AND DESERT
WILL RANGE FROM THE MIDDLE TEENS TO AROUND 20 AND RECOVERY WILL RANGE
FROM 30 TO 40 PERCENT. THE MARINE LAYER WILL REMAIN RELATIVELY
SHALLOW AND PERSIST AROUND 1000 FEET ASL. A WEAK TO MODERATE ONSHORE
PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL PERSIST.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL PREVAIL OVER THE REGION
WITH LITTLE CHANGE IN CONDITIONS THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THERE REMAINS
ENOUGH LINGERING MOISTURE FOR A SLIGHT CHANCE OF AFTERNOON SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS ALONG THE SIERRA CREST EACH DAY. TEMPERATURES WILL
AVERAGE A FEW DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL WITH GENERALLY LIGHT TERRAIN DRIVEN
WINDS...EXCEPT POSSIBLE GUSTY AND ERRATIC WINDS NEAR ANY THUNDERSTORM.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT WILL BE MORE
ISOLATED OVER THE SOUTHERN SIERRA AND SOUTHERN GREAT BASIN UNDER A
SLIGHTLY DRIER AND MORE STABLE WESTERLY FLOW TODAY AND FRIDAY.
ANOTHER PUSH OF MOISTURE IS EXPECTED TO SPREAD UP ACROSS THE REGION
OVER THE WEEKEND FOR AN UPSWING IN SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

INCREASING SOUTHERLY FLOW ALOFT IS EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY INCREASE THE
AVAILABLE MOISTURE OVER THE REGION THROUGH THE UPCOMING
WEEKEND...RESULTING IN INCREASING STORM CHANCES...HIGHER
HUMIDITIES...AND COOLER TEMPERATURES. STRONG AND GUSTY
WINDS...FREQUENT LIGHTNING...AND HEAVY DOWNPOURS CAN BE EXPECTED FROM
THE STRONGER STORMS.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
