SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

IT WILL REMAIN VERY WARM AND DRY FOR INLAND AREAS TODAY WITH LOCALLY
GUSTY EAST TO NORTHEAST WINDS NEAR THE COASTAL FOOTHILLS THIS
MORNING. WEAK ONSHORE FLOW WILL RETURN FRIDAY AND STRENGTHEN THROUGH
THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL BRING A COOLING TREND WITH INCREASING
HUMIDITIES. A PACIFIC LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO MOVE INLAND
THROUGH CALIFORNIA SOME TIME THE EARLY TO MIDDLE PART OF NEXT WEEK.
THIS IS EXPECTED TO MAINTAIN COOLER TEMPERATURES AND HIGHER
HUMIDITIES WITH THE POSSIBILTY OF WETTING PRECIPITATION.

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

LOCALLY BREEZY NORTHEASTERLY WINDS WILL CONTINUE INTO EARLY
THURSDAY...WITH THE STRONGEST WINDS BETWEEN 10 AND 15 MPH
SUSTAINED AND GUSTS TO TO 25 MPH. WIDESPREAD HUMIDITIES UNDER
10 PERCENT WILL CONTINUE AS WELL...WITH NEARLY NO RECOVERIES IN
MOST MOUNTAINS. RED FLAG CONDITIONS ARE NOT EXPECTED...BUT
ELEVATED FIRE CONCERNS WILL PERSIST WITH THE WINDS AND DRY AIR.

DESPITE COOLING CONDITIONS AND A RETURN OF ONSHORE FLOW ON FRIDAY
AND SATURDAY...VERY DRY AIR WILL MOVE THROUGH THE AREA. MOUNTAIN
AND INLAND VALLEY AREAS WILL SEE HUMIDITIES WELL UNDER 10 PERCENT
WITH NO OVERNIGHT RECOVERIES. MEANWHILE MODERATE SOUTHWEST FLOW
ALOFT AHEAD OF THE APPROACHING STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING GUSTY WINDS
AND CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS TO THE MOUNTAINS AND
INTERIOR VALLEYS. OF MOST CONCERN ARE THE HIGHER MOUNTAINS ON
SATURDAY WHEN MARGINAL RED FLAG CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED.

A SIGNIFICANT STORM SYSTEM WILL LIKELY IMPACT THE AREA SOMETIME
EARLY NEXT WEEK...WITH MODERATE TO LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN...POSSIBLE
THUNDERSTORMS...AND GUSTY SOUTHERLY WINDS. THE EXACT TIMING IS
VERY TROUBLESOME AT THIS POINT...BUT CURRENT PROJECTIONS HIGHLIGHT
THE LATE MONDAY AND TUESDAY TIME PERIOD.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

A HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE ALONG THE WEST COAST WILL
COMBINE WITH AN OFFSHORE FLOW TO MAINTAIN A WARMING AND DRYING
TREND THROUGH THANKSGIVING DAY. A COOLING TREND AND INCREASING
HUMIDITY WILL BEGIN FRIDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND AS
TWO PACIFIC STORM SYSTEMS CROSS NORTHERN CALIFORNIA. A STRONGER
STORM WILL BRING INCREASED WINDS AND BETTER CHANCES FOR
PRECIPITATION ACROSS THE DISTRICT BY TUESDAY.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN IN PLACE AGAIN TODAY LEADING
TO A CONTINUATION OF ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND LIGHT WINDS. HIGH
CLOUDS WILL INCREASE DURING THE DAY AS AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE
APPROACHES THE COAST. HIGH PRESSURE WILL WEAKEN FRIDAY...BUT
TEMPERATURES ARE STILL EXPECTED TO REMAIN WELL ABOVE NORMAL. WE WILL
START TO SEE AN INCREASE IN SOUTHWEST WINDS FRIDAY AFTERNOON OVER
PORTIONS OF SAN BERNARDINO...CLARK AND MOHAVE COUNTIES.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN THE DOMINANT WEATHER FEATURE ACROSS THE
SOUTHWEST THROUGH THE END OF THE WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND. THIS WILL RESULT IN
VERY LIGHT DIURNALLY DRIVEN WINDS ALONG WITH MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES.
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND LOW DEWPOINTS ARE ALSO EXPECTED.
HUMIDITIES WILL FALL INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS EACH AFTERNOON FOLLOWED
BY FAIR OVERNIGHT RECOVERY.

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
