SUMMARY OF FWF DISCUSSIONS

Discussion from LAXFWFSGX

HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT WILL STRENGTHEN NEAR THE CALIFORNIA COAST
THROUGH TUESDAY BRINGING A WARMING TREND. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE OVER
THE GREAT BASIN FOR LATE TODAY THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY WILL BRING
GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS NEAR THE COASTAL FOOTHILLS WITH LOWER
HUMIDITIES. NORTHEAST WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO BE STRONGEST ON TUESDAY.
A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE MOVING SOUTHEASTWARD ACROSS NEVADA AND
CALIFORNIA FOR CHRISTMAS DAY WILL BRING COOLING...HIGHER
HUMIDITIES...AND GUSTY WEST TO NORTHWEST WINDS FOR THE MOUNTAINS AND
DESERTS. SURFACE HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE GREAT BASIN WILL BRING GUSTY
NORTHEAST WINDS NEAR THE COASTAL FOOTHILLS FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY
WITH LOWER HUMIDITIES AND SLIGHTLY BELOW AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURES
FOR INLAND AREAS THROUGH THE WEEKEND.

Discussion from LAXFWFLOX

OCCASIONAL LIGHT RAIN WILL IMPACT AREAS NORTH OF SANTA BARBARA
THROUGH EARLY SATURDAY...WITH ISOLATED SHOWERS ELSEWHERE.
OTHERWISE COOL CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST THROUGH SATURDAY. A STRONG
RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD OVER CALIFORNIA NEXT
WEEK...WHILE MODERATE NORTH TO NORTHEAST FLOW FORMS. THE STRONGEST
WINDS ARE EXPECTED LATE SATURDAY THROUGH EARLY MONDAY...WHEN
GUSTS TO AROUND 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED OVER SANTA BARBARA COUNTY AND
THE I-5 CORRIDOR. THIS WILL BRING STEADILY WARMING AND DRYING
CONDITIONS SUNDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. BY TUESDAY...HIGH TEMPERATURES
WILL BE WELL IN THE 70S TO LOWER 80S WITH HUMIDITIES INTO THE
TEENS. COOLER CONDITIONS EXPECTED AFTER THAT.

Discussion from SFOFWFHNX

A LARGE UPPER HIGH PRESSURE RIDGE WILL SLOWLY BUILD
INLAND THROUGH TUESDAY RESULTING IN DECREASED CLOUDS AND A MORE
STABLE ATMOSPHERE. THIS WILL STRENGTHEN THE INVERSION OVER THE SAN
JOAQUIN VALLEY WHERE FOG AND LOW CLOUDS WILL PERSIST. A LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL CROSS TO THE NORTH OF OUR AREA ON CHRISTMAS
EVE AND CHRISTMAS DAY...TEMPORARILY DISPLACING THE UPPER RIDGE AND
BRINGING A COOLING TREND TO THE DISTRICT. THE RIDGE WILL THEN BUILD
BACK INLAND LATE IN THE WEEK.

Discussion from RNOFWFVEF

A STRONG JET STREAM PASSING ACROSS NEVADA WILL KEEP A
GOOD AMOUNT OF CLOUDS AROUND THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON AND ALSO ALLOW
FOR A STRAY SHOWER IN NORTHERN LINCOLN COUNTY. A SYSTEM WILL PUSH
ACROSS UTAH ON MONDAY INCREASING NORTHERLY WINDS ACROSS THE AREA AS
WELL AS BRING THE POSSIBILITY OF A FEW SHOWERS ONCE AGAIN TO
NORTHERN LINCOLN COUNTY. OTHERWISE EXPECT DRY CONDITIONS WITH HIGH
TEMPERATURES CLOSE TO RECORD LEVELS ON MONDAY. MILD WEATHER WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH CHRISTMAS EVE. ANOTHER SYSTEM WILL PASS ACROSS THE
AREA LATE CHRISTMAS EVE INTO CHRISTMAS DAY FOLLOWED BY COLDER
CONDITIONS ALONG WITH GUSTY WINDS FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

Discussion from PHXFWFPSR

A SOMEWHAT ELEVATED FIRE DANGER WILL DEVELOP TUESDAY ACROSS SOUTHEAST
CALIFORNIA AND THE COLORADO RIVER VALLEY AS NORTH WINDS STRENGTHEN IN
THE LATE MORNING AND AFTERNOON. GUSTS UP TO 30 MPH WILL BE
POSSIBLE...ESPECIALLY OVER RIDGE TOPS AND THROUGH NORTH-SOUTH CHANNELED
RIVER VALLEYS. HOWEVER...HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL ONLY FALL INTO A 20 TO
30 PERCENT RANGE PRECLUDING A HIGHER FIRE DANGER.
OTHERWISE...TEMPERATURES WILL BE NEAR OR ABOVE AVERAGE WITH GOOD TO
EXCELLENT OVERNIGHT RECOVERY.

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND
IN THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
