HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION:
:
DRY WEATHER PREVAILED OVER THE PAST 24 HOURS, WITH NEARLY ALL OF
THE REGION REPORTING NO PRECIPITATION THROUGH 8AM SATURDAY. ONLY
FAR NORTHWESTERN MAINE SAW ANY RAINFALL, AS LIGHT SHOWERS MOVED
THROUGH OVERNIGHT. REPORTED PRECIPITATION IN THIS REGION WAS UNDER
ONE TENTH OF AN INCH.

HIGH PRESSURE ACROSS THE REGION THIS MORNING WILL YIELD TO A
FRONTAL SYSTEM WHICH WILL MOVE THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT
.
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AS
MOISTURE AND INSTABILITY INCREASES. BY THE END OF THE WEEKEND AND
INTO THE START OF THE WORK WEEK, A STRONGER FRONT IS EXPECTED TO
BEGIN TO AFFECT WESTERN AND NORTHERN PORTIONS OF THE AREA WITH
ADDITIONAL SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

48 HOUR BASIN AVERAGE FORECAST PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS ARE
GENERALLY BETWEEN 1/2 AND 1 INCH, EXCEPT ALONG THE NEW ENGLAND
COAST WHERE 1/4 TO 1/2" IS FORECAST THROUGH MONDAY MORNING.

HYDROLOGIC DISCUSSION:
:
THE RIVERS ACROSS NEW ENGLAND AND NEW YORK ARE RECEDING THIS
SATURDAY MORNING.  THIS DOWNWARD TREND WILL CONTINUE THROUGH MUCH
OF THE DAY. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BEGIN TO MOVE INTO THE
REGION FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY, ONLY MINOR RISES ARE FORECAST FROM
THIS SHOWER ACTIVITY.

ACCORDING TO THE USGS WATERWATCH WEBPAGE, 7-DAY AVERAGE
STREAMFLOWS ARE IN THE NORMAL TO ABOVE NORMAL RANGE FOR THIS TIME
OF YEAR FOR MOST OF THE REGION. DRIER CONDITIONS ARE BEING SEEN IN
PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND AND EXTREME NORTHERN MAINE WHERE
BELOW NORMAL FLOWS ARE BEING REPORTED.

THE NERFC FLOOD POTENTIAL OUTLOOK GRAPHIC INDICATES SIGNIFICANT
RIVER FLOODING IS NOT EXPECTED IN THE NORTHEASTERN UNITED STATES
DURING THE NEXT FIVE DAYS.
