THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST NEW
MEXICO...SOUTHWEST TEXAS AND WEST TEXAS.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT

PRECIPITATION CHANCES WILL BE ON THE INCREASE TONIGHT, ESPECIALLY
OVER SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO, THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS, THE UPPER TRANS
PECOS AND INTO THE DAVIS MOUNTAINS.  SOME OF THE PRECIPITATION COULD
FALL AS A MIX OF RAIN, SLEET OR SNOW IN THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS AND
NORTHERN LEA COUNTY IN NEW MEXICO.  AROUND 1 INCH OF SNOW OR SLEET
WILL BE POSSIBLE IN THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS, ESPECIALLY IN THE
HIGHER ELEVATIONS.  LITTLE TO NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED OVER
NORTHERN LEA COUNTY BY FRIDAY MORNING.

A HIGH WIND WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR GUADALUPE PASS SINCE
NORTHEAST GAP WINDS WILL RISE TO 40 TO 55 MPH SUSTAINED BEHIND A
STRONG COLD FRONT.  THESE STRONGER WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO OCCUR
BETWEEN 5 PM MST THIS AFTERNOON AND 11 AM MST FRIDAY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY

AS STRONG WINDS THROUGH GUADALUPE PASS BEGIN TO SUBSIDE FRIDAY
MORNING, PRECIPITATION CHANCES WILL INCREASE MORE FRIDAY
AFTERNOON, AND BECOME LIKELY AREAWIDE FRIDAY NIGHT.  FLOODING OF
LOW LYING AREAS WILL BE ONE OF THE PRIMARY CONCERNS SINCE
PERSISTENT MODERATE, AND AT TIMES HEAVY, RAINFALL WILL RESULT IN
RAINFALL TOTALS IN EXCESS OF ONE INCH ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA.

A WINTRY MIX OF RAIN, SLEET AND SNOW IS ALSO POSSIBLE FRIDAY INTO
EARLY SATURDAY ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS AND THE
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS.  AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOWFALL WILL BE
POSSIBLE IN THE GUADALUPE MOUNTAINS, ESPECIALLY ABOVE 6000 FEET.  AN
INCH OR LESS IS EXPECTED OVER NORTHERN LEA COUNTY.  IF TEMPERATURES
ARE ABLE TO DROP BELOW FREEZING IN THESE AREAS, SOME TRAVEL PROBLEMS
COULD MATERIALIZE, ESPECIALLY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY MORNING.
