...SURGES POSSIBLE WITH ALL NORTH FACING HARBORS...

THE CURRENT NORTH SWELL IS TRENDING LOWER, BUT IS STILL LARGE
ENOUGH TO PRODUCE LIGHT TO MODERATE SURGES IN ALL NORTH FACING
HARBORS ESPECIALLY THIS MORNING. PLACES SUCH AS HALEIWA BOAT
HARBOR...HILO AND KAHULUI HARBORS ARE SUSCEPTABLE TO THIS SWELL.
THIS SWELL ALSO HAS THE POTENTIAL OF PRODUCING LARGE BREAKING
WAVES NEAR CHANNEL AND HARBOR ENTRANCES. MARINERS USING THESE
HARBORS SHOULD EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN ENTERING OR LEAVING PORT AND
WHEN MOORING OR LAUNCHING VESSELS.
