CONDITIONS HAVE IMPROVED ACROSS THE TAHOE BASIN THIS EVENING AS
WINDS HAVE DECREASED AND THE AMOUNT OF SMOKE MOVING INTO THE
REGION HAS LESSENED. CONDITIONS ARE LIKELY TO DETERIORATE AGAIN TUESDAY.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN RENO HAS ISSUED A DENSE SMOKE
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM PDT TUESDAY.

* VISIBILITY: DROPPING TO NEAR ONE MILE AT TIMES...ESPECIALLY
  DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING WHEN ADDITIONAL SMOKE FROM
  THE KING FIRE IS MOST LIKELY TO SPREAD EAST OF THE SIERRA
  CREST.

* IMPACTS: PERIODS OF DENSE SMOKE WILL LIKELY RESULT IN
  UNHEALTHY AIR QUALITY WITH OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES DISCOURAGED.
  TRAVEL MAY BE IMPACTED DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY ON INTERSTATE
  80...HIGHWAY 50 AND HIGHWAY 89.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A DENSE SMOKE ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN SMOKE FROM WILDFIRES
SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCES VISIBILITIES...MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO SEE
AND BREATHE. THE SMOKE WILL CONTINUE TO BE A PROBLEM UNTIL THE
FIRE BECOMES LESS ACTIVE...OR A MORE FAVORABLE WEATHER PATTERN
DISPERSES THE SMOKE. PERSONS IN THE ADVISORY AREA SHOULD AVOID
PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO THE SMOKE AND STAY INDOORS.
