...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO
8 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

* Timing: Winds will becoming strong between late morning and
  early afternoon...decreasing in the evening behind a cold front.

* Winds: West to northwest 20 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph.

* Impacts: Strong cross winds will cause hazardous driving
  conditions, especially for high profile vehicles on north to
  south roads.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Secure loose outdoor items such as patio furniture and trash cans.
The best thing to do is prepare ahead of time by making sure you
have extra food and water on hand, flashlights with spare batteries
and/or candles in the event of a power outage.

...WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 1 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
8 PM PDT THIS EVENING...

* Timing: Winds will become strong for the afternoon before
  decreasing later in the evening behind a cold front.

* Winds: West to northwest 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 55 mph.

* Wave Heights on Pyramid Lake: 2 to 5 feet.

* Impacts: Strong cross winds will cause hazardous driving
  conditions, especially for high profile vehicles. Travel
  restrictions are likely, especially for Highway 95 south of
  Fallon. Very rough waters can be expected on Pyramid Lake.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Secure loose outdoor items such as patio furniture and trash cans.
If possible, be prepared to take alternate routes and be alert for
road closures or travel restrictions due to strong winds.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING
TO 8 PM PDT THIS EVENING FOR LAKE TAHOE...

* Winds: Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.

* Wave Heights: increasing to 2 to 4 feet this afternoon.

* Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to
  capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions
  improve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a
sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing
boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
