BLUE RIDGE...

...WET GROUND...CALM WINDS...AND HIGH RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES HAVE
LED TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF WIDESPREAD DENSE FOG MAINLY WEST OF THE
BLUE RIDGE THIS MORNING, INCLUDING THE NEW RIVER, GREENBRIER RIVER,
AND SOUTHERN SHENANDOAH VALLEYS, THE MOUNTAIN EMPIRE REGION, AS
WELL AS THE ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS. SOME LOCATIONS WITHIN THIS REGION
HAVE SEEN VISIBILITIES DROP TO NEAR ZERO. THESE CONDITIONS WILL
CONTINUE THROUGH AN HOUR OR SO AFTER SUNRISE...IMPACTING THE
MORNING COMMUTE...

ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM EDT THIS MORNING.

* LOCATIONS...NEAR AND WEST OF A LINE FROM BOONE...TO ROANOKE...TO
  LEXINGTON...INCLUDING THE NEW RIVER, GREENBRIER RIVER, SOUTHERN
  SHENANDOAH VALLEYS, THE MOUNTAIN EMPIRE REGION, AND THE
  ALLEGHANY HIGHLANDS.

* HAZARDS...DENSE FOG...VISIBILITIES REDUCED TO 1/2 MILE OR LESS
  IN MANY LOCATIONS.

* TIMING...THROUGH 9 AM EDT THIS MORNING.

* IMPACTS...SEVERELY REDUCED VISIBILITIES WILL HAMPER TRAVEL
  THROUGH THE MORNING COMMUTE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A DENSE FOG ADVISORY MEANS VISIBILITIES WILL FREQUENTLY BE
REDUCED TO LESS THAN ONE QUARTER MILE. IF DRIVING...SLOW DOWN...
