Southeast Gulf of Mexico

.SYNOPSIS...A cold front extends from Apalachee Bay to 24N90W to
inland Mexico near Veracruz. The front will reach from Tampa to
NW Cuba Tuesday morning, and move E of the area by early
Wednesday evening. Strong high pressure in the wake of the front
will bring fresh to strong northerly winds over much of forecast
waters from early on Tuesday sunrise through late Thursday
night. Winds will diminish through Thursday afternoon as the
high pressure shifts to the NE Gulf. The high pressure will
weaken on Friday as another cold front moves across eastern
Texas, and into the NW Gulf on Friday night. The front will then
reach from the NE Gulf to near 25N90W and the eastern Bay of
Campeche by late on Saturday followed by strong high pressure to
once again bring another round of strong northerly flow across
much of the basin, with northerly winds expected to reach gale
force in the far SW Gulf portion.

Within 200 nm east of the coast of Florida

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure ridging extending from just W of
Bermuda to the NW Bahamas will shift eastward through Tuesday in
response to a strong cold front presently moving across the SE
United  States. The cold front will move off the SE United
States coast late tonight into early Tuesday morning, reach from
31N76W to the NW Bahamas to NW Cuba early on Wednesday, then
begin to weaken as it reaches from near 31N72W to the central
Bahamas and to central Cuba early on Thursday. Scattered showers
and thunderstorms are expected ahead of the front. The cold
front will slow down and extend from near 31N66W to near 26N72W
and dissipating stationary to central Cuba Friday. On Saturday,
the cold front potion will move to the E of the northern waters,
while the remnants of the stationary front move westward as a
trough as high pressure builds across the northern waters.
