URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THROUGH TUESDAY BECAUSE OF
LOW HUMIDITY AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS...

.Gusty northeast will become gradually stronger and more
widespread into Tuesday. Winds similar to those of today could
continue into Wednesday. Lowest daytime humidity below 10 percent
will continue into Wednesday with poorest overnight recovery near
the coastal foothills. The most extreme combination of low
humidity...stronger winds...and heat is expected for Monday and
Tuesday. Weaker winds are expected for Thursday with cooling and
some recovery in humidity.

...RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM PDT TUESDAY FOR
STRONG GUSTY WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY...

* WIND...For today...areas of northeast winds 15 to 25 mph with
  gusts to 35 mph near coastal foothills and below passes and
  canyons with isolated gusts to 45 mph. Winds strengthening for
  late tonight into Tuesday with winds late Monday night and Tuesday
  25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph and isolated gusts to 60 mph.

* HUMIDITY...Lowest humidity today of 5 to 10 percent...and around
  5 percent Monday and Tuesday with poorest overnight recovery in the
  windier areas near the coastal foothills.

* TIMING...Through Tuesday...with the most extreme combination of
  low humidity...stronger and more widespread winds...and heat on Monday
  and Tuesday.

* OUTLOOK...For Wednesday lowest humidity of 5 to 10 percent with
  northeast winds gusting to 35 mph will continue critical fire
  weather conditions.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly...especially
  Monday and Tuesday. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
