Daily River And Lake Summary
National Weather Service Wakefield, Va
1048 AM EDT Mon Apr 24 2017

Showers produced a wide range of rainfall across the area during the
past 24 hours. Amounts up to a half an inch were common across
southwestern portions of the region with lesser amounts to the north
and east. Periods of moderate rain will be possible throughout the
day today with up to an inch possible across southern Virginia and
northeast North Carolina. Like yesterday, lesser rainfall amounts
are expected further north and east. Additional rainfall is
anticipated on Tuesday, but dry conditions make a return for
Wednesday. River levels will rise early this week for the
James, Appomattox, and Chowan basins, reaching action stage in many
locations due to the expected rainfall.
