WEATHER SUMMARY FOR MAINE AND NEW HAMPSHIRE

A COLD FRONT WILL GRADUALLY MOVE OFFSHORE TODAY BRINGING COOLER AND
MORE COMFORTABLE AIR INTO THE REGION.  HIGHS TODAY WILL BE MAINLY IN
THE 70S ACROSS THE REGION WITH SOME UPPER 60S IN THE MOUNTAINS AND
SOME LOWER 80`S ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE AND SOUTHWESTERN
MAINE.  AS THE FRONT MOVES SLOWLY SOUTHEAST...SKIES WILL GRADUALLY
BECOME PARTLY CLOUDY FROM NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST.

WITH MAINLY CLEAR SKIES AND DRIER AIR IN PLACE
TONIGHT...TEMPERATURES SHOULD DROP TO RATHER CHILLY LEVELS BY
MORNING WITH TEMPERATURES DROPPING TO THE 40S IN THE MOUNTAINS AND
THE 50S ELSEWHERE.  ANOTHER NICE DAY CAN BE EXPECTED FOR FRIDAY WITH
MORE SUN AND SLIGHTLY WARMER TEMPERATURES AS A RIDGE OF HIGH
PRESSURE CRESTS OVER THE REGION.  THE HIGH WILL MOVE OFFSHORE FRIDAY
NIGHT ALLOWING WARMER AND MORE HUMID CONDITIONS TO CREEP IN FROM THE
SOUTHWEST FOR SATURDAY.  SATURDAY`S HIGHS WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER
70S IN THE MOUNTAINS TO THE UPPER 80S IN SOUTHERN AREAS.  SLIGHTLY
COOLER TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST.

THE FAIR WEATHER WILL COME TO AN END SUNDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH
APPROACHES FROM THE WEST BRINGING THE THREAT OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS FOR LATE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH MONDAY.  THE TROUGH
WILL REMAIN OVER THE EASTERN U.S. THROUGH MUCH OF THE UPCOMING WEEK
KEEPING COOL AND UNSETTLED WEATHER ACROSS THE REGION.
