...AN AREA OF HEAVY SNOW Across Northern Oneida County Moving
South...

At 959 PM EST, an area of heavy snow was located across extreme
northern Oneida county near Florence, Ava, Boonville, and Woodgate.
Snowfall rates of between 1 and 3 inches per hour are likely within
this band. These snowfall rates will produce near whiteout
conditions and make travel very dangerous. Through 11 PM the
heaviest snow will be along the Lewis and Oneida county line. After
that time the band will begin to shift south toward Camden and
Steuben, and may be as far south as Rome by 1 AM.

Locations impacted include...
Rome, Lee, Vienna, Trenton, Floyd, Camden, Boonville, Forestport,
Oriskany and Steuben.

Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this dangerous
snow squall. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads
are likely to lead to accidents. Consider delaying travel until the
squall passes your location.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly in winter weather situations. Be
prepared for snow or ice covered roads. Slow down and allow extra
time when traveling.
