...SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...

At 634 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Reeves to near Lake Charles to near
Cameron to 17 miles south of Johnsons Bayou. Movement was east at 30
mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph will be possible with these storms, along
with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour.

Locations impacted include...
Lake Charles, Jennings, Cameron, Welsh, Iowa, Lake Arthur, Kinder,
Basile, Elton, Mermentau, Fenton, Reeves, Grand Lake, Hayes, Moss
Bluff, Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge, Lake Charles Regional
Airport, Grand Chenier, Klondike and Hacketts Corner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
