...RAPID CHANGE TO COLDER WEATHER EARLY TUESDAY...

A POTENT SPRING COLD FRONT WILL MOVE ACROSS THE AREA MONDAY NIGHT
THROUGH TUESDAY. MILD WEATHER MONDAY WILL GIVE WAY TO A MUCH
COLDER AIR MASS TUESDAY THAT IS EXPECTED TO GENERALLY PERSIST INTO
NEXT WEEKEND. HIGH TEMPERATURES TUESDAY WILL BE 15-25 DEGREES
COLDER THAN THEY ARE ON MONDAY. THE FRONT WILL BRING A PERIOD OF
LIGHT TO MODERATE PRECIPITATION MONDAY NIGHT WITH SNOW LEVELS
DROPPING FROM AROUND 8000 FEET DOWN TO AROUND 5000 FEET TUESDAY
MORNING. SNOW AMOUNTS OF 1-3 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ABOVE 5000 FEET
WITH AS MUCH AS 3-6 INCHES ABOVE 6000 FEET. GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL
ALSO DEVELOP BEHIND THE FRONT. ANOTHER DISTURBANCE WILL BRING
SHOWERS WITH SNOW LEVELS DOWN AS LOW AS 3000 FEET ON
WEDNESDAY...THOUGH AMOUNTS SHOULD BE LIGHT.

THOSE INTENDING TO TRAVEL SHOULD EXPECT THE POSSIBILITY OF LIGHT SNOW
AMOUNTS AT TIMES...ON MOUNTAIN ROADS...MOSTLY ABOVE 4500 FEET
TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. THOSE WHO HAVE OUTDOOR PLANS SHOULD PREPARE
FOR COLDER AND WETTER CONDITIONS. STAY TUNED FOR ADDITIONAL
UPDATES REGARDING THIS SHARP CHANGE TO COLDER WEATHER.

INTO TUESDAY. MILD WEATHER MONDAY WILL GIVE WAY TO A MUCH COLDER
AIR MASS TUESDAY THAT IS EXPECTED TO GENERALLY PERSIST INTO
NEXT WEEKEND. AWAY FROM THE COAST...HIGH TEMPERATURES
TUESDAY WILL BE 15-25 DEGREES LOWER THAN THEY ARE ON MONDAY. THE
FRONT WILL BRING A PERIOD OF LIGHT TO MODERATE PRECIPITATION
MONDAY NIGHT, FOLLOWED BY SHOWERY WEATHER WITH ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY. THE AIR MASS WILL BE COLD
ENOUGH THAT SOME OF THE HEAVIER SHOWERS MAY CONTAIN SMALL HAIL OR
GRAUPEL. SNOW LEVELS MAY REACH DOWN AS LOW AS 3000 FEET TUESDAY
NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY.

MORNINGS DURING WHICH TIME TEMPERATURES MAY FALL BELOW 30
DEGREES...POSSIBLY HARMING SENSITIVE PLANTS OR CROPS. SCATTERED
SHOWERS ON WEDNESDAY WILL OCCUR WITH SNOW LEVELS AROUND 3500
FEET...THOUGH LITTLE OR NO ACCUMULATION IS EXPECTED.
