URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE
National Weather Service Duluth MN
803 AM CST Fri Feb 23 2018

..TWO WINTER STORMS WILL IMPACT THE NORTHLAND THROUGH THE
WEEKEND...

.The first storm is ongoing over the area, and will impact the
Northland through the rest of this morning. A fast moving low
pressure system over southeast Minnesota will move northeast and
exit the area early this afternoon. Widespread storm total
snowfall amounts of 4 to 7 inches are expected, with 6 to
9 inches along the North Shore of Lake Superior. Locally higher
amounts are possible. Some freezing drizzle will also mix in at
times, especially for portions of east central Minnesota and
northwest Wisconsin Friday morning. The morning commute on Friday
will be hazardous, with snow covered and slippery roads.

Storm number two is expected to move northward into the western
Great Lakes Saturday night, and then move north of the region on
Sunday. This system has the potential to bring another 6 to
12 inches of snow to most of the Northland. A Winter Storm Watch
has been issued for much of the region from Saturday night into
Sunday. Travel is expected to be difficult Saturday night and
Sunday, with snow covered and slippery roads.
