.DISCUSSION...

KEY MESSAGES:

- High Wind Warning remains in effect for most locations south and
west of Fort Peck Lake. Strongest winds which could lead to
damaging impact are expected through today. Crosswind concerns
and dangerous chop on Fort Peck Lake are heightened.

- Rain will continue to wind down as drier air has moved in from
the east. The heaviest rain has passed.

- Flooding concerns are minimal as a lot of the rain has soaked
into the ground. In bank rises are expected but flooding is not
  expected.

WEATHER PATTERN OVERVIEW:

The slow-moving strong spring storm system will sit and spin over
the area and slowly weaken. Most of the heavy rain has now ended
but light rain showers will continue into Wednesday evening,
finally ending by Thursday evening.

A flat ridge will push in from the Pacific Northwest across the
northern Rockies later this week, allowing for a drying and
warming trend to begin.

Temperatures will return to normal Thursday, then rise and remain
above normal starting Friday.

Winds through out the period shouldn`t be near Lake Wind Advisory
criteria after they diminish this evening. TFJ
CONFIDENCE AND POTENTIAL DEVIATIONS FROM BASE FORECAST:

Winds have not gusted consistently over the High Wind Warning
criteria, but they still are close enough to keep the warning
going. Will leave it for the later shifts to handle. It`s set to
expire are midnight tonight.

The Flood Watch for SW Phillips county will remain in effect until
9 PM as rainfall is still in the area. It wasn`t as heavy today as
it could have been but some flooding remains a possibility till 9
PM this evening. TFJ
