Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Central/Southeast Illinois
National Weather Service Lincoln IL
303 PM CDT Wed Mar 27 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Increasing westerly transport winds and increasing mixing heights
will improve vent rates on Thursday, when afternoon RH values
will dip into the 30s and possibly 20s in places, especially areas
with typically drier soil content. Transport winds shift back to
southerly on Friday and increase to 20-25 mph for another day of
very good vent rates, but burning conditions will become less
favorable over the weekend as periods of showers and thunderstorms
dampen fuels and foster lower mixing heights.
