OPEN LAKE FORECAST for Lake Michigan

FOR WATERS BEYOND FIVE NAUTICAL MILES OF SHORE ON Lake Michigan.

Waves are provided as a range of significant wave heights, which
is the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave, along with the
average height of the highest 10% of the waves which will
occasionally be encountered.

.SYNOPSIS...High pressure of 30.3 inches will move across the
upper lakes tonight. Weak low pressure of 29.9 inches will move
across the southern lakes region tonight and Wednesday. A broad
high pressure ridge averaging 30.1 inches will linger over the
eastern lakes through Friday. A cold front is expected to move
south across the lake Friday night as low pressure develops over
the Central Plains. This low is expected to move across the lakes
region Saturday night into Sunday, with its trailing cold front
then sweeping across Lake Michigan.

to 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft overnight.
.WEDNESDAY...Northeast gales to 35 kt diminishing to 15 to 25 kt.
Chance of showers in the morning...then slight chance of showers
in the afternoon. Waves 8 to 12 ft occasionally to 16 ft
subsiding to 6 to 9 ft occasionally to 12 ft.
.WEDNESDAY NIGHT...East winds 10 to 20 kt. Waves 4 to 6 ft
occasionally to 8 ft subsiding to 3 to 5 ft.
.THURSDAY...East winds 10 to 20 kt becoming southeast 10 to
15 kt. Waves 2 to 4 ft.
