THIS HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING RIVERS: KANKAKEE
RIVER.

FOR THE KANKAKEE RIVER...INCLUDING SHELBY...MINOR FLOODING IS
POSSIBLE.

WARMER TEMPERATURES YESTERDAY AND TODAY HAVE INITIATED SNOWMELT
RUNOFF ACROSS THE KANKAKEE RIVER BASIN. SOME TRIBUTARIES INCLUDING
THE IROQUOIS RIVER...HAVE BEGUN TO RISE IN RESPONSE TO THE SNOWMELT.
THE KANKAKEE RIVER IS ALSO EXPECTED TO BEGIN RISING IN THE NEXT 24
HOURS.

FOR THE KANKAKEE RIVER AT SHELBY, THE LATEST STAGE IS 7.0 FEET AT 10
AM MONDAY. FLOOD STAGE IS 9.0 FEET. BANKFULL STAGE IS 8.5 FEET. MINOR
FLOODING IS POSSIBLE...WITH A CREST OF AROUND 9.5 FEET SATURDAY
AFTERNOON...WHICH IS 0.5 FEET ABOVE FLOOD STAGE.
