THIS HYDROLOGIC OUTLOOK INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING RIVER: KANKAKEE
RIVER.

FOR THE KANKAKEE RIVER...INCLUDING SHELBY...MINOR FLOODING IS
POSSIBLE.

RUNOFF FROM RAINFALL SUNDAY AND MONDAY HAS CAUSED RISES OF WATER
LEVELS ON AREA STREAMS AND RIVERS ACROSS EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS AND
NORTHWEST INDIANA. ADDITIONAL RUNOFF FROM THE EXPECTED RAINFALL WEDNESDAY
MORNING WILL ADD TO THE RISES.

FOR THE KANKAKEE RIVER AT SHELBY, THE LATEST STAGE WAS 6.7 FEET
AT 7 PM TUESDAY. FLOOD STAGE IS 9.0 FEET. BANKFULL STAGE IS 8.5 FEET.
MINOR FLOODING IS POSSIBLE. WATER LEVELS ARE PROJECTED TO REACH
FLOOD STAGE SUNDAY MORNING AND THEN CREST AROUND 9.3 FEET MONDAY
MORNING...WHICH IS 0.3 FEET ABOVE FLOOD STAGE.
