...PERIODS OF HEAVY RAINFALL EXPECTED LATE TONIGHT AND AGAIN
THURSDAY NIGHT...

A MOISTURE RICH STORM SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO STEADILY LIFT
NORTHEAST TOWARDS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA TONIGHT
AND THURSDAY. THE FIRST WAVE OF PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED TONIGHT
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. THEN AFTER A LULL IN THE RAINFALL
THURSDAY AFTERNOON...A SECOND WAVE OF STEADIER RAIN AND
THUNDERSTORMS IS EXPECTED THURSDAY NIGHT.

THE HEAVIEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED MAINLY SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80...WHERE RAINFALL TOTALS BETWEEN 1 AND 3 INCHES
ARE EXPECTED. FARTHER NORTH...RAINFALL AMOUNTS SHOULD BE
LIGHTER...WITH UP TO AROUND AN INCH POSSIBLE BY EARLY FRIDAY
MORNING.

THE COMBINATION OF NEARLY SATURATED SOILS ACROSS ALL OF NORTHERN
ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA WITH ADDED RAINFALL THROUGH EARLY
FRIDAY MORNING...COULD LEAD TO FLOODING ESPECIALLY OF LOW LYING
AREAS.

ANY ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WOULD LIKELY LEAD TO RENEWED RISES AND
POSSIBLE FLOODING ON MANY RIVERS ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND
NORTHWEST INDIANA.

RESIDENTS IN LOW LYING FLOOD PRONE AREAS ALONG AREA RIVERS AND
CREEKS SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS DEVELOPING WEATHER SYSTEM.
