THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

  THUNDERSTORMS SOME OF WHICH MAY PRODUCE:
   TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS..LEADING TO LOCALIZED FLOODING.
   FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
   LARGE HAIL UP TO HALF DOLLARS.
   WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

  ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE ALONG AND SOUTH OF
  INTERSTATE 80 THIS AFTERNOON. MORE WIDESPREAD THUNDERSTORMS ARE
  EXPECTED SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 THIS EVENING INTO THE OVERNIGHT
  HOURS.

  DISCUSSION:

  A WARM FRONT WILL REMAIN ACROSS CENTRAL ILLINOIS THROUGH THIS
  EVENING AS A STRONG UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE OVER THE PLAINS
  MOVES EAST ALONG THIS FRONT THIS EVENING. INSTABILITY WILL BE
  MAXIMIZED ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 WITH ISOLATED
  STORMS...POSSIBLY SUPERCELLS...POTENTIALLY DEVELOPING LATE THIS
  AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING. A LINE OR COMPLEX OF STORMS IS THEN
  EXPECTED SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 THIS EVENING INTO EARLY
  OVERNIGHT. HEAVY RAIN...LOCALIZED FLOODING...LARGE HAIL...AND
  DAMAGING WINDS WILL BE THE MAIN THREATS. WHILE NOT THE MAIN
  THREAT...A TORNADO CANNOT BE RULED OUT SOUTH OF A PONTIAC TO
  RENSSELAER LINE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

THERE WILL BE ADDITIONAL PERIODIC CHANCES OF THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS
THE ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA SUNDAY AND WEDNESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

HIGH WAVES ARE LIKELY TO LEAD TO DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS
ALONG AREA BEACHES SUNDAY EVENING THROUGH MONDAY NIGHT.

INDIANA NEARSHORE WATERS THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. SOME OF
THESE STORMS COULD PRODUCE WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 30 KT.

THERE IS A CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE NORTHERN HALF OF THE
LAKE THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. THERE THEN IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF
STORMS THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT PRIMARILY OVER THE SOUTHERN END
OF THE LAKE. SOME OF THE STORMS OVER THE SOUTHERN END OF THE LAKE
TONIGHT MAY PRODUCE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 30 KT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SUNDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.

OCCASIONAL GALE FORCE GUSTS ARE POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY
MORNING.

THERE WILL BE PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS SUNDAY AND THEN
TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY.
