1104 AM CDT SUN JUL 27 2014 /1204 PM EDT SUN JUL 27 2014/

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...WHICH MAY PRODUCE:

    OCCASIONAL CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
    PEA TO DIME SIZED HAIL.
    WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

WHILE AN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORM WILL BE POSSIBLE JUST ABOUT
ANYWHERE ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AFTERNOON...SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS
ARE EXPECTED MAINLY EAST OF A LINE FROM CHICAGO TO PONTIAC
ILLINOIS. THUNDERSTORMS WILL BECOME LESS NUMEROUS BY LATE
  AFTERNOON.

  DISCUSSION:

A COLD FRONT WAS PUSHING EAST ACROSS THE REGION LATE THIS
MORNING AND SHOULD BE ROUGHLY FROM CHICAGO TO PONTIAC ILLINOIS
AT MIDDAY. SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP
ALONG THE FRONT AROUND NOON...MOVING EAST ACROSS NORTHWEST
INDIANA AND PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS THIS AFTERNOON.
THIS IS WHERE THE STRONGEST STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE...WITH
GUSTY WINDS AND SMALL HAIL. ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE
POSSIBLE ELSEWHERE THROUGH MID TO LATE AFTERNOON HOWEVER...
AS A STRONG UPPER DISTURBANCE DROPS SOUTHEAST ACROSS THE
REGION. INSTABILITY WILL DIMINISH LATER THIS AFTERNOON AS
DRIER LOW LEVEL AIR SPREADS IN BEHIND THE COLD FRONT. THIS
WILL RESULT IN DECREASING THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE LATE...
WITH SHOWERS AND STORMS LARGELY ENDING BY EARLY THIS EVENING.

HIGH WAVES WILL LEAD TO DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS ALONG AREA
BEACHES TONIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...MONDAY THROUGH SATURDAY.

ISOLATED AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE TUESDAY THROUGH
SATURDAY.

HIGH WAVES WILL CONTINUE DANGEROUS SWIMMING CONDITIONS ALONG AREA
BEACHES MONDAY INTO MONDAY NIGHT.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
