1059 AM CDT FRI JUL 11 2014 /1159 AM EDT FRI JUL 11 2014/

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

  SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...A FEW MAY PRODUCE:
    TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS.
    FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
    WIND GUSTS TO 40 MPH.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

CHANCE OF THUNDERSTORMS BEGINNING LATE THIS EVENING WEST
OF ROCKFORD TO LASALLE LINE...THEN SPREADING EAST AND
INCREASING IN COVERAGE OVERNIGHT FOR ALL OF THE OUTLOOK AREA.

  DISCUSSION:

HIGH PRESSURE WILL SLOWLY DEPART THE REGION TO THE EAST THIS
AFTERNOON...WITH LOW LEVEL MOISTURE STEADILY INCREASING.
A VERY MOIST ENVIRONMENT WILL ARRIVE LATE THIS EVENING ALONG
WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE...AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL
STEADILY DEVELOP AND INCREASE IN COVERAGE THROUGH THE
OVERNIGHT HOURS. A FEW THUNDERSTORMS COULD EASILY PRODUCE
VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN A SHORT DURATION...LEADING TO THE
  POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED FLOODING CONCERNS.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

SEVERAL PERIODS OF THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY SATURDAY THROUGH
MONDAY. SOME OF THE STORMS COULD PRODUCE LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL
AMOUNTS...AND THERE IS SOME POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
ESPECIALLY LATE SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT.
