THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.

WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:
  Elevated Thunderstorm Risk...with an associated:
      Elevated Thunderstorm Wind Damage Risk...up to 60 MPH.
      Elevated Flooding Risk.
      Limited Hail Risk...up to quarter size.
  Limited Excessive Heat Risk.

DISCUSSION:

There is a slight chance of thunderstorms during the daytime,
any of which will have a low severe weather threat.

A complex of thunderstorms is forecast to move southeast into
far northern Illinois late this evening or overnight. It is
uncertain if the storms will move through much of the area or just
pass near the Illinois and Wisconsin state line. There is potential
to have severe winds with this complex of storms, mainly north of
Interstate 80 in northern Illinois, as well as a period of very
heavy rainfall that could bring localized flooding.

Flooding will continue along portions of the Fox and Des Plaines
Rivers.

  Elevated Excessive Heat Risk.

  Limited Thunderstorm Risk.

DISCUSSION:

An active and humid weather pattern will continue into the
weekend. This will include periodic thunderstorm chances with
the potential for heavy rain that could result in flooding, and
possibly a severe thunderstorm threat. The humid air mass also
may lead to heat index readings in excess of 100 degrees, most
favored south of Interstate 80 Thursday through Saturday.

In addition, flooding will continue along portions of the Fox and
Des Plaines Rivers.

Spotters may be needed north of I-80 tonight.
