...A LOOK BACK AT THE CLIMATE FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2014 FOR
CHICAGO AND ROCKFORD...

AT CHICAGO...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 41.4 DEGREES WHICH IS
6.8 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 25.8
DEGREES WHICH IS 6.6 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 33.6 DEGREES WHICH IS 6.7 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.
DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER...1.41 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS
RECORDED WHICH IS 1.74 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. 2.8 INCHES OF
SNOW WAS RECORDED DURING THE MONTH...WHICH IS 1.6 INCHES ABOVE
NORMAL.

ONE RECORD WAS SET DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2014 AT CHICAGO.
ON NOVEMBER 18...THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 19 DEGREES SET THE RECORD
FOR THE DAILY LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE. THIS BROKE THE OLD RECORD OF
22 DEGREES SET IN 1903. NOVEMBER 2014 WILL GO DOWN IN THE RECORD
BOOKS AS THE 8TH COLDEST NOVEMBER ON RECORD.  RECORDS GO BACK TO
1872.


AT ROCKFORD...THE AVERAGE HIGH TEMPERATURE WAS 40.2 DEGREES WHICH
IS 7.4 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 23.5
DEGREES WHICH IS 6.8 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE
FOR THE MONTH WAS 31.9 DEGREES WHICH IS 7.0 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL.
DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER...1.63 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION WAS
RECORDED WHICH IS 0.95 INCHES BELOW NORMAL. 3.5 INCHES OF
SNOW WAS RECORDED DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER...WHICH IS 1.8 INCHES
ABOVE NORMAL.

THREE RECORDS WERE SET DURING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER 2014 AT
ROCKFORD.
THE FIRST RECORD WAS FOR DAILY SNOWFALL ON NOVEMBER 16 WHEN 0.8
INCHES OF SNOW FELL.  THIS BROKE THE OLD RECORD OF 0.4 INCHES OF
SNOW SET IN 1951. THE SECOND RECORD OCCURRED ON NOVEMBER 18 WHEN THE
LOW TEMPERATURE REACHED 8 DEGREES. THIS BROKE THE OLD RECORD FOR
DAILY LOW TEMPERATURE OF 11 DEGREES SET IN BACK 1989. THE THIRD
RECORD WAS ALSO FOR NOVEMBER 18 WHEN THE HIGH TEMPERATURE ONLY
REACHED 19 DEGREES.  THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD FOR THE DAILY
LOW MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE ON NOVEMBER 18 WHICH WAS 28 DEGREES SET IN
1951. NOVEMBER 2014 WILL GO DOWN IN THE BOOKS AS THE 6TH COLDEST
NOVEMBER ON RECORD SINCE 1906.
