THE NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA REGION SAW A GOOD MIX
OF SUN AND CLOUDS DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS. LATE AFTERNOON
TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE MID 20S TO LOWER 30S.

THE CLOUD COVER WILL BE INCREASING AND LOWERING THIS EVENING AS A
LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHES. AFTER MIDNIGHT...THIS SYSTEM WILL
BRING THE REGION...INITIALLY...A PERIOD OF SNOW...SLEET...FREEZING
RAIN FOR A FEW HOURS. SOME AREAS OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS MAY SEE A
COUPLE INCHES OF SNOW. THEN AFTER SUNRISE...A PERIODS OF FREEZING
RAIN MIXED WITH SLEET CAN BE EXPECTED. A WARM FRONT WILL THEN PUSH
NORTHEASTWARD AND CHANGE THE MIXED PRECIPITATION TO ALL RAIN BY
NOON...WITH THE EXCEPTION BEING THE FAR NORTHERN COUNTIES WHICH MAY
HANG ONTO ICY CONDITIONS A FEW MORE HOURS. THEN A COLD FRONT WILL
SWEEP SOUTHEASTWARD DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON. THUS...LIGHT SNOW
IS POSSIBLE TUESDAY EVENING BEFORE PRECIPITATION TAPERS OFF LATER
IN THE EVENING. A BRIEF WARM UP INTO THE MID 30S TO AROUND 40 CAN BE
EXPECTED TUESDAY. THEN BEHIND THE COLD FRONT COLDER CONDITIONS CAN
BE EXPECTED WEDNESDAY AS ANOTHER COLD HIGH PRESSURE MOVES OVER THE
AREA.
