WEATHER SUMMARY FOR NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA

1151 AM CST TUE MAR 3 2015 /1251 PM EST TUE MAR 3 2015/

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM BROUGHT THE REGION...A WIDE RANGE OF
PRECIPITATION THIS MORNING TO INCLUDE...SNOW...SLEET...FREEZING
RAIN...RAIN AND DRIZZLE. THE GREATEST SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WERE IN
THE COUNTIES BORDERING WISCONSIN WITH THREE AND A HALF INCHES
REPORTED IN BELVIDERE AND BULL VALLEY. MORNING LOW TEMPERATURES
WERE IN THE MID 20S. LATE MORNING TEMPERATURES ROSE INTO THE LOWER
30S. WINDS WERE FROM THE SOUTH GUSTING NEAR 25 MPH.

A WARM FRONT WILL PUSH NORTHEASTWARD CAUSING THE PRECIPITATION TO
CHANGE TO DRIZZLE OR LIGHT RAIN. THEN A COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP
SOUTHEASTWARD DURING THE TONIGHT WHICH WILL BRING AN END TO THE
PRECIPITATION. A BRIEF WARM UP INTO THE MID 30S TO AROUND 40 CAN
BE EXPECTED TODAY...THEN BEHIND THE COLD FRONT COLDER CONDITIONS
ARE EXPECTED WEDNESDAY AS ANOTHER COLD HIGH PRESSURE MOVES OVER
THE AREA.
