WEATHER SUMMARY FOR NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA

1125 AM CDT MON SEP 1 2014 /1225 PM EDT MON SEP 1 2014/

SKIES WERE MOSTLY CLOUDY ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND
NORTHWEST INDIANA AT MIDDAY. ISOLATED SHOWERS WERE MOVING ACROSS
PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST ILLINOIS. AFTER MORNING LOWS IN THE MID 60S
TO LOW 70S...TEMPERATURES HAVE RISEN INTO THE MID TO UPPER 70S.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO
THE EVENING AHEAD OF AN APPROACHING COLD FRONT. HOWEVER...THE
LABOR DAY HOLIDAY WILL NOT BE A WASHOUT. THE BETTER THREAT FOR
STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE TO AREAS SOUTH OF
INTERSTATE 80 AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 57. THESE STORMS COULD
PRODUCE HEAVY RAINFALL AND GUSTY WINDS. HIGHS THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE
IN THE LOW TO MID 80S. QUIET WEATHER WILL THEN PREVAIL TUESDAY AND
MUCH OF WEDNESDAY DURING THE DAYTIME HOURS AS HIGH PRESSURE MOVES
IN. HIGHS TUESDAY WILL BE IN THE LOW 80S...AND ON WEDNESDAY IN THE
MID 80S.
