SUNDAY AFTERNOON WAS SUNNY AND MILDER...WITH SOUTHWEST WINDS
BEHIND EXPANSIVE HIGH PRESSURE SLIDING EAST OF THE REGION. HIGH
TEMPERATURES REACHED THE MID TO UPPER 60S...WITH A FEW LOCATIONS
HITTING THE 70 DEGREE MARK. THIS IS STILL SEVERAL DEGREES BELOW
THE NORMAL MID 70S IN MID SEPTEMBER. SUNDAY EVENING WILL START OUT
MOSTLY CLEAR...FOLLOWED BY INCREASING CLOUDS OVERNIGHT AS AN UPPER
LEVEL DISTURBANCE APPROACHES FROM THE WEST. A ISOLATED RAIN
SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE TOWARD DAWN NORTH OF A CHICAGO TO PERU LINE.
OVERNIGHT LOWS ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN THE MID TO UPPER 40S OUTSIDE
OF CHICAGO AND LOWER 50S IN THE CITY.

PERIODIC RAIN SHOWERS ARE LIKELY FOR MUCH OF MONDAY AS THE UPPER
LEVEL DISTURBANCE MOVES ACROSS THE REGION. THE CLOUDS AND RAIN
WILL RESULT IN ANOTHER RAW DAY FOR MID SEPTEMBER...WITH HIGHS ONLY
IN THE UPPER 50S TO LOWER 60S. A FEW MID 60S ARE POSSIBLE SOUTH OF
THE KANKAKEE RIVER. HIGH PRESSURE WILL QUICKLY SPREAD OVER THE
REGION MONDAY NIGHT...RESULTING IN ANOTHER CHILLY NIGHT WITH LOWS
IN THE UPPER 30S TO MID 40S OUTSIDE OF CHICAGO AND NEAR 50 IN THE
CITY. HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN IN CONTROL OF THE WEATHER TUESDAY
THROUGH FRIDAY...PROVIDING MOSTLY CLEAR AND TRANQUIL CONDITIONS.
TEMPERATURES WILL TOP OUT IN THE MID TO UPPER 60S AND GRADUALLY
WARM ON WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. THE DAYLIGHT HOURS FRIDAY SHOULD
BE DRY...BUT THEN SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES ARE EXPECTED TO
RETURN FRIDAY NIGHT AND SATURDAY AS A FRONTAL SYSTEM APPROACHES.
