WEATHER SUMMARY FOR NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA

CLOUDY SKIES OCCURRED ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST
INDIANA DURING THE AFTERNOON. A LINE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
WITH LOCALIZED HEAVY RAINFALL MOVED ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA.
RAINFALL REPORTS ACROSS THE AREA RANGED FROM LESS THAN AN INCH UP
TO OVER THREE AND A HALF INCHES. HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR THE DAY
OCCURRED FOR MOST LOCATIONS LATE THIS MORNING BEFORE THE RAIN
STARTED. THE HIGHS WERE IN THE UPPER 70S TO MID 80S.

LOW PRESSURE OVER THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND AN ASSOCIATED WARM FRONT
EXTENDING SOUTHEAST ACROSS CENTRAL ILLINOIS WILL REMAIN OVER THE
AREA THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEKEND. THERE WILL BE A SLIGHT
CHANCE OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS EVENING. HOWEVER...AN UPPER
LEVEL RIDGE WILL BUILD ACROSS THE REGION INTO SUNDAY...BRINGING AN
END TO THE POTENTIAL FOR SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. HIGHS ON
SUNDAY WILL BE IN THE UPPER 80S TO LOW 90S. THE HEAT INDEX WILL BE
IN THE MID 90S TO NEAR 100. THE NEXT CHANCE FOR SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE MONDAY MORNING.
