PERIODIC RAIN SHOWERS AND DRIZZLE OCCURRED MONDAY AS AN UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE MOVED ACROSS THE REGION...THOUGH THE MOST WIDESPREAD
RAIN AND DRIZZLE PRIMARILY STAYED ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE
80. THE CLOUDS AND RAIN RESULTED IN ANOTHER RAW DAY FOR MID
SEPTEMBER...WITH HIGHS ONLY IN THE UPPER 50S TO LOWER 60S. HIGH
PRESSURE CENTERED ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS WILL QUICKLY SPREAD
OVER THE REGION MONDAY NIGHT...RESULTING IN ANOTHER CHILLY NIGHT
WITH LOWS IN THE UPPER 30S TO UPPER 40S OUTSIDE OF DOWNTOWN CHICAGO
AND AROUND 50 IN AND NEAR DOWNTOWN. HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN IN
CONTROL OF THE WEATHER TUESDAY INTO FRIDAY...PROVIDING MOSTLY
CLEAR AND TRANQUIL CONDITIONS. TEMPERATURES WILL TOP OUT IN THE
MID 60S ON TUESDAY AND GRADUALLY WARM BACK TO THE 70S AREA WIDE BY
FRIDAY. SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM CHANCES ARE EXPECTED TO RETURN BY
THE WEEKEND AS A FRONTAL SYSTEM APPROACHES...ALONG WITH ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES.
