EXTENSIVE LOW CLOUD COVER WAS OVER THE REGION EARLY THIS MORNING
BEHIND A STRONG COLD FRONT THAT SWEPT ACROSS THE AREA LATE MONDAY
AFTERNOON INTO MONDAY EVENING. TEMPERATURES AS OF 6 AM RANGED FROM
THE MID 40S TO LOWER 50S NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80 AND LOWER TO MID
50S SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80. A BAND OF SPOTTY LAKE EFFECT DRIZZLE
WAS MOVING INTO NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND PORTIONS OF NORTHWEST
INDIANA. THE REMAINDER OF TODAY WILL BE MUCH COOLER...WITH HIGHS
RANGING FROM THE MID 50S TO THE MID 60S...COOLEST IN FAR NORTHEAST
ILLINOIS. THE CLOUD COVER WILL GRADUALLY ERODE THROUGH THE DAY BUT
WILL TAKE LONGEST TO DO SO NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN. TONIGHT WILL BE
PARTLY CLOUDY AND SEASONABLY CHILLY WITH LOWS IN THE MID TO UPPER
40S AWAY FROM CHICAGO AND LOWER 50S IN THE CITY.

SOUTHEAST WINDS WILL DEVELOP ON WEDNESDAY AS A WARM FRONT LIFTS
NORTH. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM BACK INTO THE 70S DESPITE INCREASING
CLOUD COVER...EXCEPT MID TO UPPER 60S ALONG THE ILLINOIS SHORE.
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND A FEW STORMS WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY
EVENING...WITH SHOWERS AND STORMS BECOMING MORE WIDESPREAD INTO
THURSDAY AND THURSDAY EVENING AS LOW PRESSURE TRACKS NORTHEAST
ACROSS THE MISSISSIPPI VALLEY. A COLD FRONT TRAILING FROM THE LOW
WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE AREA THURSDAY NIGHT...BRINGING DRIER AND
COOLER CONDITIONS ON FRIDAY. A FEW LINGERING SHOWERS ARE POSSIBLE.
HIGHS WILL ONLY REACH THE LOWER TO MID 60S AFTER REACHING THE MID
TO UPPER 70S ON THURSDAY. SATURDAY WILL BE EVEN COOLER IN THE MID
50S TO AROUND 60 UNDER PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES...MODERATING SOME ON
SUNDAY.
