Fire Weather Planning Forecast For Southwestern California
National Weather Service Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
318 PM PDT Fri Apr 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...
A similar marine layer pattern is expected Saturday as it was today, but
the weakening of the onshore gradients will bring a drying trend to the
mountains and valleys. On Sunday, the marine layer will become more
shallow due to a weak high pressure system, making Sunday the warmest day
with temperatures climbing into the 80s across the interior. Relative
humidities on Saturday will be driest across the mountains and interior
areas, with a drying trend spreading toward the coast on Sunday. 20-40
percent humidities will be common in driest areas, locally down to 15%
across the mountains and Antelope Valley. The warming and drying trend
will continue across the first half of next week, with west to northwest
wind gusts of 20 to 35 mph common over the wind prone areas.
