.LONG TERM...
(Saturday through Wednesday)
Issued at 353 AM CDT Thu Apr 11 2024

The period will begin with large scale ridging over the middle of
the country, and high pressure centered over the central Gulf Coast
and headed toward the southeast states. Clockwise flow around the
high will bring a southerly flow into Arkansas this weekend, and
this will result in well above average temperatures. Dry conditions
will be noted, with an uptick in moisture levels on Sunday.

By Monday/Tuesday, a new storm system will emerge in the central
Plains, and will track well north into the upper Midwest. The system
will try to drag a cold front toward us, but the aforementioned high
will keep the front just to the northwest. Ahead of the front,
breezy southerly winds will continue, with isolated to scattered
showers and thunderstorms in the forecast.

As the period ends, the pattern remains unchanged. Yet another storm
system appears to gather strength in western Kansas on Wednesday,
but that will likely follow its predecessor toward Iowa/Wisconsin
later in the week. In Arkansas, it stays warm and breezy along with
small rain chances.
