Rating: TSTM/Wind Estimated Peak Wind: 90 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.41 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/02/2024 Start Time: 10:15 AM EDT Start Location: Greenup / Greenup County / KY Start Lat/Lon: 38.5692 / -82.8291 End Date: 04/02/2024 End Time: 10:20 AM EDT End Location: 1 E Hanging Rock / Lawrence County / OH End Lat/Lon: 38.5566 / -82.7121 Survey Summary: A broken path of damage was noted from Seaton Avenue near South 5th Street In Greenup KY to the west side of Ironton west of the Ironton Middle School. Little to no convergence was noted in the debris along the damage path consistent with a microburst. Building damage in Greenup consisted primarily of peeling of metal roofing, damage to outbuildings, and damage to tree limbs. After crossing the Ohio River more significant damage was noted as stronger winds arrived at the campground, significant loss of roofing was noted at the Laidback Bar and significant tree damage was noted in the adjacent camping area. A salt storage dome was also destroyed in this area. The damage path ended on the west side of Ironton OH just west of the Ironton Middle School with additional tree and roof damage noted. .Long Branch Road Tornado... Rating: EF2 Estimated Peak Wind: 120 mph Path Length /statute/: 0.65 miles Path Width /maximum/: 350 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/02/2024 Start Time: 10:24 AM EDT Start Location: 8 SSW Cannonsburg / Boyd County / KY Start Lat/Lon: 38.2821 / -82.7609 End Date: 04/02/2024 End Time: 10:25 AM EDT End Location: 7 SSW Cannonsburg / Boyd County / KY End Lat/Lon: 38.2875 / -82.7511 Survey Summary: An EF2 tornado with estimated maximum winds of up to 120 mph occurred along Long Branch Road. The tornado caused considerable and significant tree damage with several large hardwoods snapped and uprooted. A home was severely damaged when the roof was blown off, and other homes also suffered at least minor damage. Several barns and outbuildings were destroyed. Access issues limited the assessment of the track ending point and track length is estimated at this time. .Proctorville OH Microburst... Little to no convergence was noted in debris along the damage path consistent with a microburst. The north wall of the Proctorville Fire Department built of unreinforced concrete block was destroyed with the roof completely removed from the rear portion of the structure. The roof at the Fairland West Elementary School was also partially removed. .Rose Road Tornado... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 1.10 miles Path Width /maximum/: 250 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/03/2024 Start Time: 10:21 AM EDT Start Location: 2 SW Westwood / Boyd County / KY Start Lat/Lon: 38.4562 / -82.7122 End Date: 04/03/2024 End Time: 10:23 AM EDT End Location: 2 SSW Westwood / Boyd County / KY End Lat/Lon: 38.4578 / -82.692 Survey Summary: An EF1 tornado skipped along a path of straight-line wind damage likely beginning along Daniels Fork Rd, continuing across State Route 5, continuing eastward crossing Rose Road and then ending at the top of the hill after crossing Pine St. The most significant damage occurred along Rose Rd.
