PRECIPITATION WAS WELL BELOW NORMAL.

THE FIRST THIRD OF THE MONTH RANKED AS THE 2ND COOLEST START TO
SEPTEMBER ON RECORD. SEPTEMBER 1-10 1883 WAS THE COOLEST.

A RECORD DAILY COOL HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 63 DEGREES WAS SET ON THE
2ND. THIS BROKE THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 64 SET IN 1935.

CLIMATE RECORDS FOR THE BALTIMORE MD AREA HAVE BEEN KEPT AT
BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON INTERNATIONAL THURGOOD MARSHALL AIRPORT SINCE
1950. ADDITIONAL TEMPERATURE RECORDS OBSERVED DOWNTOWN EXTEND BACK
TO JULY OF 1872. PRECIPITATION RECORDS EXTEND BACK TO JANUARY OF
1871. SNOWFALL RECORDS BEGAN IN MARCH OF 1892.
