JUNE BEGAN WITH A PERIOD OF COOL, DAMP WEATHER, BUT THAT WOULD SOON
CHANGE AS A WARM, HUMID AIR MASS MOVED INTO NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND.
THE TEMPERATURE TOPPED 90 DEGREES ON 3 STRAIGHT DAYS FROM JUNE 11
THRU 13. ALTHOUGH A COLD FRONT BROUGHT A FEW COOLER DAYS, THE WARMTH
WOULD RETURN AGAIN WITH SEVERAL MORE DAYS ABOVE 80 DEGREES. THE
WARM, HUMID AIR FINALLY MOVED AWAY ON JUNE 26 WITH COOL AND LESS
HUMID CONDITIONS LASTING THROUGH THE END OF THE MONTH ALONG WITH
OCCASIONAL SHOWERS.

THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH WAS 65.7 DEGREES WHICH WAS 1.6
DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL. THE WARMEST JUNE ON RECORD WAS IN 1999 WHEN
THE AVERAGE TEMPERATURE WAS 67.6 DEGREES. THE COOLEST WAS ONLY 60.6
DEGREES IN 2015 AND 1998.

A TOTAL OF 4.21 INCHES OF RAIN FELL WHICH WAS 0.97 INCHES BELOW
NORMAL. THE HEAVIEST RAIN WAS ON THE FINAL TWO DAYS OF THE MONTH
WHEN 1.1 INCHES OF RAIN WAS RECORDED. THE WETTEST JUNE ON RECORD WAS
IN 2012 WHEN 11.07 INCHES FELL. THE DRIEST WAS IN 1999 WHEN ONLY
1.08 INCHES WAS RECORDED.
