...WET AND WARM MAY IN KOTZEBUE...

MAY 2015 WAS ANOTHER RECORD SETTING MONTH IN RESPECT TO TEMPERATURES. THE MONTH
STARTED OFF WITH THE INFLUENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER NORTHWEST ALASKA. THE MAJORITY
OF THE REST OF THE MONTH SAW A SERIES OF SHORTWAVES ROTATING AROUND THE BASE OF
TROUGH OVER  THE WEST COAST WITH A FEW FRONTAL PASSAGES. THE END OF THE MONTH SAW
THE INFLUENCE OF HIGH PRESSURE AND DRIER WEATHER.


TEMPERATURES... THE VILLAGE EXPERIENCED THE WARMEST ALL TIME IN DAILY MAXIMUM
TEMPERATURES...2ND IN DAILY MINIMUM TEMPERATURES...AND WARMEST ALL TIME IN AVERAGE
DAILY TEMPERATURES. A NUMBER OF RECORDS WERE SET OR TIED DURING THE MONTH OF MAY.

RANKING 19TH ALL TIME IN STATION HISTORY.  THERE WERE ONLY 12 DAYS IN THE MONTH OF
RECORDED PRECIPITATION. THE PICKED UP TWENTY NINE PERCENT OF THE MONTHLY TOTAL ON
