Generalized Statewide Coastal Waters Forecast for Hawaii

.Synopsis for Hawaiian coastal waters...
Building high pressure far north of the state will bring strong
trade winds and elevated, rough seas through Thursday night. As
the high moves away from the area later this week, the trades
will gradually weaken to moderate speeds. A surface trough
developing west of the area this weekend is expected to produce
much lighter winds by Sunday.

PAILOLO AND ALENUIHAHA CHANNELS...AND THE WATERS SOUTH OF THE BIG
ISLAND...
...SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY...

.REST OF TODAY THROUGH THURSDAY...Northeast to east winds
increasing to 25 to 35 knots over the windier waters near the Big
Island and Maui County. Northeast to east winds 20 to 30 knots
elsewhere. Wind waves 9 to 14 feet. Northwest swell 8 to 13 feet,
and southeast swell 3 feet. Isolated showers today, becoming
scattered starting tonight.
.THURSDAY NIGHT AND FRIDAY...East winds 20 to 30 knots. Wind
waves 9 to 13 feet. North swell 6 to 7 feet, and southeast swell
4 feet. Scattered showers.
.FRIDAY NIGHT...East winds 15 to 25 knots. Wind waves 7 to 11
feet. North swell 5 feet, and southeast swell 4 feet. Scattered
showers.
.SATURDAY...East winds 10 to 20 knots. Wind waves 5 to 9 feet.
Northwest swell 4 to 5 feet, and southeast swell 3 to 4 feet.
Scattered showers.
.SUNDAY...East winds 10 to 15 knots. Wind waves 3 to 5 feet.
Northwest swell 6 to 8 feet, and southeast swell 3 feet. Isolated
showers.
