Sunny, dry, and warm, with breezy southerly winds developing for the afternoon. RH values will be in the 25 to 35 percent range this afternoon. Low level jet moves over the area tonight, with strong southerly winds just above the surface pulling plains moisture into the area. This moisture will set the stage for scattered to numerous thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through. Wetting rain chances will be high with this activity and locally heavy downpours can be expected with the stronger cells, along with strong wind gusts and hail. Showers will persist overnight into Thursday, with snow levels dropping as low as 5500 feet by sunrise. 3 to 6 inches of snow can be expected in the western mountains above 7000 feet with a dusting as low as 5000 feet. Temperatures drop from the 70s/80s Tue/Wed to the 60s Thursday and around 70 on Friday. Both days look mainly dry.
