FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
247 PM EDT MON AUG 29 2016

.DISCUSSION...AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL BE
SITUATED ALONG THE SOUTHEASTERN US COAST FROM THE CAROLINAS TO
FLORIDA THROUGH MID-WEEK. ATMOSPHERIC ENERGY WITH THIS SYSTEM
AND GOOD MOISTURE WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT AT LEAST WIDELY
SCATTERED AFTERNOON OR EVENING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS EACH DAY.

POOR DISPERSION WILL CONTINUE DURING THE LATE EVENING THROUGH
EARLY MORNING HOURS...WITH A GENERALLY WEAK PRESSURE GRADIENT.
SOME CLOUDINESS TOGETHER WITH MINIMAL RADIATIONAL COOLING WILL
FAVOR ONLY PATCHY LIGHT FOG LATE TONIGHT...DESPITE GOOD LOW-LEVEL
MOISTURE.

SURFACE WINDS TUESDAY WILL BE FROM THE NORTH-NORTHEAST LESS THAN
5 MPH AFTER DAYBREAK...THEN BECOME EAST-NORTHEAST AT 5 TO 10 MPH
BY AFTERNOON. TRANSPORT WINDS WILL INCREASE TO 10 TO 15 MPH.
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO NEAR 45 PERCENT.
