Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
317 AM CST Mon Nov 20 2017

.DISCUSSION...

A high pressure system centered just to the northwest will keep
northern Alabama cool and dry today. In addition, weak winds and
low mixing heights will mean poor dispersion. As the high pressure
system shifts east, southerly winds will develop on Tuesday along
with low clouds over northeast Alabama. Mixing heights will
increase to 3000 feet while transport winds increase to 10
MPH. So, dispersion should be slightly better (fair to generally good).

By Tuesday night into Wednesday a dry cold front will pass over
the region bringing a return to cooler daytime highs in the
40s/50s and northerly winds of 10-15 MPH. Dry weather should
prevail through Friday as a high pressure system remains in place
just to the northwest of the region. Then, another dry cold front
is expected later this weekend keeping cool temperatures and dry
air in place.

Given the prolonged dry period, anticipating KBDI (currently at
250) values to slowly rise over the next week.

Fog potential over the next few days: None at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: None at this time.
