Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
Nantional Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
308 AM CDT Sat May 27 2017

...RED FLAG WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM LATE THIS MORNING THROUGH
THIS EVENING FOR RELATIVE HUMIDITY OF 10 PERCENT OR LESS, 20 FOOT
WINDS OF 20 MPH OR MORE, AND VERY HIGH TO EXTREME FIRE DANGER FOR
SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO AND MOST OF CULBERSON COUNTY...

.DISCUSSION...
Yet another unseasonably hot day across area with widespread minimum
RHs 10 percent or less. However the stronger winds will be found in
Southeast New Mexico and most of Culberson County and this is were
a Red Flag Warning is in effect for today. ERCs have climbed to mostly
above the 75th percentile. A big change is expected on Sunday when a
cold front moves through bringing an end to the recent hot spell. The
chance of storms will increase into mid week as moisture holds in and
a slow moving upper disturbance impacts the area.
