FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST VIRGINIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
1041 PM EDT WED AUG 20 2014

.DISCUSSION...
DESPITE OF AFTERNOON CLOUDS AND VERY ISOLATED RAIN SHOWERS...CHANCES
FOR PRECIPITATION ARE LOW THROUGH MIDNIGHT. THEN...REMNANTS OF A
STRONG DISTURBANCE OVER SOUTHERN INDIANA EXPECTED TO TRACK SOUTHEAST
INTO EXTREME SOUTHERN WEST VIRGINIA AFTER MIDNIGHT.

EXPECT ANOTHER WARM AND MUGGY NIGHT WITH HIGH HUMIDITY...LOW LEVEL
CLOUDS OR FOG DEVELOPING DURING THE PREDAWN HOURS.

A SHORTWAVE WOULD ENHANCE SHOWERS AND STORMS THURSDAY AFTERNOON
ACROSS THE ENTIRE AREA.

THE ENVIRONMENT WILL REMAIN VERY WARM...HUMID AND UNSETTLED...AS
WEAK DISTURBANCES CROSS. ANY CLUSTER OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS
COULD EASILY PRODUCE DOWNPOURS...AND CAUSE LOCALIZED WATER ISSUES.
FURTHERMORE...AREAS THAT GET HIT REPEATEDLY DURING THE WEEK...WILL
BECOME VULNERABLE TO MORE SERIOUS FLASH FLOODING ALONG SMALL STREAMS
AND CREEKS. STRONG RISES ON SOME HEADWATERS RIVERS COULD EVEN
OCCUR.

A DRYING TREND WILL TRY TO ENSUE FOR THE WEEKEND BUT A FEW SHOWERS
AND STORMS CANNOT BE RULED OUT...ESPECIALLY ON SATURDAY.
